5/30/2023 0 Comments Nocturn na op gg![]() What else can be done? Buff champs that counter him I guess. Compensation buffs are in order, but proper compensation nerfs are too With mobility no longer as widely available, they have an easier time closing the gap, and with the better stats can kill faster. Same for champions like fiora, pantheon, talon, xin, jarven, Jax. Case and paint nocturne and stridebreaker, with ult a free gap close, its now possible to guarantee a full combo and basically a free kill when used smartly. Ex kaisa and yone, they did not need another dash). This make mobility less accessible in general, but those champions that already relied on it (and aside from SB on bruisers were the real abusers of mobility. The mobility rework shifted power from utility stats into raw damage. Healing was busted because it was accessible to everyone, and now that it's 'balanced' champs that relied on their built-in healing have had a much harder time and been forced to adapt (aatrox and illoai, felt terrible to play with how common and effective anti heal is). For the second, I'm worried we are going to see a repeat of how they 'fixed' the healing meta at the start of the season. Achieving one of those is much more doable than bringing him back to his earlier state of relative power and utility for the whole game Not a champ that has a protective early game and makes it very doable to easily and effectively scale. He needs to be either a early-mid champ that waterslides reasonably as the game goes on, or a hyperscaler hyper carry that is unstoppable at 30 mins, but struggles to get there. Riot needs to decide 2 things: what kind of champ is noc, and how to fix mobility without breaking champs with mobility. Noc isn't busted and because of his waveclear, it's stridebreaker, plus the reduced mobility but higher damage items. The closest NERF for most champs would be an extreme hike in mana cost for their highest priority ability. ![]() In lane you normally aren't tanking minion aggro 100% of the time, panths made him a terrible JG because he simply kills camps slower, and therefore takes more damage than a meta jg. Noc's nerf is fundamentally the same, meant to push him out of lane, but is far less significant. This is comparable to the current damage reduction but doesn't hurt his ability to help with or solo herald/drake/baron when in lane. ![]() A much more reasonable nerf would be to remove the low hp crit or empowered bonus damage against non-epic monsters, or even add a damage cap. A 30% reduction on q is insane, unempowered it does less damage to monsters that AA. ![]() I agree that it had to be done, but I don't agree how they did it. Panth was already a top tier top and mid laner, so his jg was nerfed. And his ult meant he could be anywhere within half of the map at a coin drop. His clear was ok, but had unmatched dueling and skirmishing power. There was another jungler like this before, who was immediately nerfed so hard he barely even scratches the bottom of the Tier list. Nocturne is a do it all jungler, with excellent early game dueling thanks to his as ms abilities and a spellshield, scales disgustingly well thanks to the items powershift into damage, and has a semi-global ult that allows him to focus on farm but still be at a fight in an instant (at the time of this post his win rate is 54% toplane, 53% jungle, and 55% midlane according to op.gg) His problem isn't only his laning power, but jungle as well. How the heck is noc only receiving passive damage nerfs against minions.
